Terms of use
Last updated 8 August 2026
Plain-English terms written to match how Dibbid actually works. Have them reviewed by a lawyer in your jurisdiction before you rely on them commercially.
1. What Dibbid is
Dibbid is a tool for offering your own belongings to people you choose, and for those people to register interest or make an offer. Dibbid is not a party to any exchange, does not handle payment, does not hold or ship goods, and does not verify items, descriptions, prices or people.
2. Your account
An account is a Dibbid ID plus a password or PIN, and a six-word recovery phrase shown once. You are responsible for keeping them safe. If you lose both, the account cannot be recovered — that is a consequence of not collecting identifying information. Accounts with no activity for 90 days may be deleted along with their listings.
3. Listing
You may only list items you own and are legally allowed to pass on. Descriptions must be honest. Nothing illegal, dangerous, stolen, counterfeit, recalled, living, or otherwise prohibited where you live. We may remove listings and accounts that break this.
4. Dibs, double dibs and bids
Dibs registers interest. Once a price is attached, later offers must exceed the previous one. Unpriced dibs can be revoked within one hour; priced offers are final. Accepting an offer closes the item and is a commitment in good faith between the two people — it is not a contract with Dibbid, and Dibbid does not enforce it.
5. Handover and payment
Arranging collection, inspection and any payment is entirely between the lister and the person who was awarded the item. Dibbid never processes money and never shares contact details; only chosen names are revealed, and only after an offer is accepted.
6. Behaviour
Don't attempt to identify other users, scrape collections, share collection links beyond the circle they were given to, or misuse the feedback forum. Collection links are unlisted, not secret — treat them with care.
7. Liability
Dibbid is provided as-is, with no guarantee of availability or of any outcome. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for disputes, losses, damage, or items that turn out not to be as described. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be noted on this page. See the privacy policy for how data is handled, and the support page to raise anything with us.
